Biography

A native of Pabelo, a "ranchito" of the Municipality of Villa Purificación in the state of Jalisco, Benjamín Flores comes from a humble and numerous family, being the tenth of fourteen brothers.
The first years of his childhood were spent in Pabelo where he studied until 4th grade, and when he was eight years old, he left the ranch to continue his studies.
His stay in secondary school lasted only 3 days, since the need of his parents and younger siblings required that he be in charge of working in the corn and bean field.
From the age of five he liked to combine his school responsibilities with his artistic qualities, he enrolled and often won in local talent contests, always being mariachi music his passion and influenced by his father who played the violin and his brother Who played the vihuela in a local mariachi.
To its 14 years and after being crossed like crazy by wanting to be professional singer of Mariachi, with the permission and blessing of his parents it was decided to travel to Nayarit where lived a premium that had artistic race in the Federal District; Once again he had to fight against the discouragement since now it was his cousin who tried to persuade him to leave his dream. Sadly he returned to continue in the mariachi of his father and brother, but not singing but playing the vihuela.
A year later, he decided to leave his house and fight for his dream by going to live with his older brother. By 1991 and after much effort, he was able to buy his first guitar costing him a million and a half pesos, representing at that time approximately five hundred dollars. He continued to play in the mariachi with his brother always longing to have and proudly wear full mariachi suit, which barely reached his 16 years buying one used for eight hundred thousand pesos and allowing him to leave his "black denim trousers with white shirt" that he hated so much . That spirit to carry out his career in the most professional way possible now makes him his own designer of the many costumes he carries in his presentations.
He was not yet eighteen and formed his first mariachi, which was responsible not only to be the main voice but also to sell his plays ("lazar la chamba" as it is known in the mariachi lingo), as well as being " Cloth of tears "of the clients who hired them to forget or remember loved ones and loved ones.
Shortly thereafter, he came to the United States (Portland, Oregon) to try his luck with the American dream, and according to his race, he had to run across Tecate and fight to regularize his migratory stay in this country that welcomed him and gave him Which in Pabelo could never dream of having, not before going through the tricks and tricks typical of "working to pay the debt of the crusade" that although originally were $ 800 in 1995, they were only paying him $ 75 of the $ 500 dollars that he Had said would win here.
In 1997 he visited Los Angeles on the occasion of his first recording titled "Esta noche", and the Hollywood entertainment industry took care of ending up falling in love with getting him to move a year later. Her second CD, "Mujer infiello", already did it with her first record company and began to arrive the massive presentations in great locations, alternating with artists like "El Chapo de Sinaloa", "Paco Cuevas", "Manolo Muñoz", etc. . Also appearing on local TV programs of the most popular channels in the region.
For 2005 and free of an artistic representation that caused much damage to his career, he returns with renewed vigor to musical studies producing and composing his next CD titled "I will not return with you". Most of his productions contain songs of his own, and in 2010 "De flor en flor" was no exception being co-author of eight of the ten songs, as well as in 2013 with "Para su sufran".
His most recent production, "Tributo al Divo de Juárez", is a collection of jewelry authored by one of the greatest Mexican artists, Juan Gabriel. Some of the songs were immortalized by himself, while others were great successes in the voices of artists of the same size as José José. This CD represents the biggest challenge in Benjamin Flores' career, as he will not stop until he is known and welcomed by all his fans.
His tireless quest to bring mariachi music to all corners of the American Union has led him to establish friendships that have interests in his homeland, having already returned several times to sing with mariachi in the cradle of them, the state of Jalisco, where thanks to working a very wide repertoire, you win the affection and respect of the listener.
Benjamín Flores will continue to insatiably develop his artistic talent with his unique voice that characterizes him, combining his perfectionism in all aspects of his career.
